Chinese 1 CSL (Chinese as a second language) is suitable for students aged five and over. The textbook used is the first volume of Chinese from Jinan University. Teaching content are as followed: In lessons 1-12, there are about 140 characters, and students are required to read and write all the characters. Lessons 1-6 are focused in learning characters. After the main lesson, only the characters are listed, not word phrases or sentences. All the characters are listed in strokes according to the stroke order and direction of strokes, marked with a red arrow. Beginning with Lesson 7, after the main text, the word phrases and sentences are listed. Some of the main texts include "proper nouns" such as names, places, festivals, etc. Completing the Chinese One CSL class requires the duration of a school year’s time.
中文一册班CSL（中文作為第二語言）, 适应五岁及五岁以上的学生，使用的教材是暨南大学《中文》第一册. 教学内容包括1-12课， 共有大约140个左右生字，要求学生对所有的生字会读会写. 本册1-6课为识字课, 主课文后只列生字, 不列词语和句子. 凡生字均按笔顺逐一列出笔画, 并将笔画书写方向用红色箭头标出. 自第7课开始, 主课文后列词语和句子, 部分主课文还列有人名,地名,节日等"专有名词". 完成中文一册班CSL需要用一个学年的时间.
