1. 校长给家长们的信 (Letters from Principal)
尊敬的各位家长老师们：
节日临近，不少家长询问关于学校假期周末仍需要开课的问题，首先感谢家长老师们的关注和一如既往的支持！
今年华夏博根中文学校与Paramus Catholic High School的租约合同从9/9/2018至6/16/2019共有四十一个周末，我们学校一学年需要三十二个周末。校方和PCHS 沟通了几次，也希望尽量避开节假日，实属无奈，其中七个周末PCHS有活动，学校都不能租给我们使用，而学校必须留出两个周末作为雪天停课的补课日，因此我们根本没有任何多余的周末供灵活安排。
为保证完成一学年的学业计划，在感恩节，圣诞节，元旦及春节附近的周末，我们都只能开课。今年还算幸运，圣诞节，新年正日都不是周日没有课。

There have been some questions regarding our classes scheduled over the weekends close to holidays. We fully understand your concerns and have tried our best to arrange the classes best fit families’ schedule. In accordance to our contract with Paramus Catholic High School (PCHS) there are total 41 weekends during the current school year (9/9/2018 - 6/16/2019), however 7 of them are not available to us due to PCHS activities and 2 weekends have to be reserved as snow days. On the other hand we need 32 weekends to fulfill our requirement of curriculum. Consequently there is vey little room for us to move our classes around to avoid having them close to the holiday. Luckily this year neither the Christmas nor the New Year falls on Sunday.
We appreciate your understanding and continuous support to the Chinese School and would like to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving holiday!
